How getting in line works

Get in line on as many items as you like - no limit, no cost, and no obligation to buy.

1. Name your price

On any listing - a vehicle or anything else - set the amount you would pay. That puts you in line to buy it. It is free, and you can do it on as many listings as you want.

2. Your place in line

The highest amount is first in line. If two people offer the same amount, whoever got there first is ahead. You see your own place ("You're #2 of 5"); other shoppers only see how many people are in line.

3. Who sees your amount

Only the seller sees your name and amount. They never see your email or phone. Other shoppers never see your name or your number.

4. Request to buy now

Ready to buy? Ask to buy at the asking price, or at your own price. The seller can accept and start working out a deal, or say "Not now" - your request stays on file until you cancel it.

5. Timed runs

Some sellers run a listing for 3, 7 or 10 days with a countdown. When it ends the listing stays up and shows "In negotiations" next to the price for 24 hours while the seller reviews offers. You can still get in line.

6. "In negotiations"

The seller is talking with a buyer. The price stays shown and you can still get in line - if it does not go through, everyone keeps their place.

7. Change your mind any time

Change your amount, withdraw from the line, or cancel a request whenever you like. Your offer stays until you take it back.

8. Nothing is binding

Getting in line and requesting to buy never commit you or the seller to anything. No sale happens until you both agree.

No account? You can still get in line - we email you a code to confirm it's you. A free account keeps every item you're in line for in one list.
